This author is one of my very first reads, actually I believe my third author ever. So therefore I have read her books before and am very familiar with the author’s writing style!
If you’ve read and are familiar with Shaylas’ writing style you’ll understand when I say this is such a Shayla Black book! The hero is mega alpha, (bdsm related) Dom, super sexy and brave of course! The heroine is beautiful, smart and strong with a hint of damsel in distress. My favorite kinds! That said, this book was a little of everything, and all i enjoyed!
Maggie meets Josiah at her sisters wedding. He was there to protect and she was there, well because her sister was getting married! They spend a sinful and amazing night together, only to think they will part the next day. Come to find out , they will be spending a lot more time together than anticipated. Josiah is guarding her while guarding his own heart!
Maggie is in a lot more danger than Josiah imagined. When he stays to guard her and find out what is happening in town, when he does find out, it’s a lot more threatening. When the danger gets closer, do does Josiah and Maggie. It’s kind of really beautiful, the way they are with each other. This is BDSM based and I LOVED EVERY PAGE OF IT! Shayla Black really writes that genre amazingly! So believe that the scenes are sizzling!

The characters are so intertwined, the plot fits well and everything is in order as far as reading goes. I did read this in one sitting because well, I just love her writing style and it captivated me and kept going. There wasn’t even a point where it was slightly slow! I will say that I did not expect the outcome, the ending and all. It has me on the edge reading faster to see what will happen, will it? hehe Like i said a reason why I liked this book so much, it’s got danger, mystery lots of actions and the romance since is swoon + kinky sex…so just saying!!
