Not my first read by the author and I also have read Book 1 in this series with Griffin which was FAN-TAS-TIC also!! I was more excited for this one becuase it’s a 2nd chance.
Boy was this something! Different in it’s own form, the characters were on point but just kind of different. In a good way yes, and the story line was right too.
Rogan and Harper’s story is a painfully beautiful one. They both have known each other since they were kids. They went from the best friend status to bf/gf during high school and the whole high school sweethearts in college. When tragedy strikes, things happen so fast that no one is sure why who when and where.
Forward a few years and Harper is back in town to ‘help her dad’ and Rogen is the very successful business man, who owns half the towns buildings. Their first meet does not go well and anything from there on. There is a lot of emotion happening for both Rogan and Harper but also their families. It was equally hard on them, but Harper is determined to be where she is, after all the town is big, how many times can she run into Rogan? HA! Let’s not forget Rogan’s mom [if you’ve read book 1 you’ll understand right away] but meddling is in their blood.
When Harper comes upon a amazing opportunity, not even Rogan will stand in her way. With the past they both share, it’s always bound to hurt no matter what or where. When they both strike a deal with one another, things get a lot of fun and even more feelings. Again, whats the harm…[famous last words]
There is SO MANY FEELINGS in this book, from the main characters to outside ones too. The story line runs deep and I especially loved the look-back’s on their young life…how it all began so to say! If I had to chose it would be hard to which Harper or Rogan…i liked the equally. Harper was innocent, beautiful and funny and Rogan was smart, sexy and full of emotions. It all came together so well!!
