R E V I E W ➠ Always Mine by Kennedy Fox
College parties, beer, and one-night stands—that was my life.
Now, I hunt down criminals, ethically or not, but if no one’s asking, then I’m not telling. Drinking and women are still included, though I can’t seem to forget the girl who almost gave me her virginity. She would’ve until I realized she was too young, and I wasn’t looking to get thrown into jail.
In a twist of fate, we’re reunited, except she’s no longer underage but still equally off-limits. After ignoring her relentless advances, she starts to wear me down. I only have so much willpower when she’s around, running her smart mouth and showing off her impeccable dance moves.
Just when my restraint starts to crumble, my poor choices finally catch up with me, putting us both in danger.
There’s no easy way to explain why I betrayed her, but I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe—even if it means breaking her heart.

Not my first read by the ladies & so far I have been trying to keep up with every book they put out since I started reading them. This one is a duet, the ladies are known for this. So, you know what that means!
The start of this is fast and also dies fast! In the end, I for one am glad that Maddie came to her senses and spoke up! And Liam, you little shit…can we please smack him for being too harsh!! Also this setting is when Maddie is very young and you get a glimpse of the young previous duo’s characters too. That said, I hope by now everyone that really follows my reviews understands that I have one main trigger and one trope I can’t seem to get into reading. This doesn’t have a trigger but it is more towards the YA romance and that’s just not for me. It’s beautifully written I just personally don’t enjoy that style.
When a year passes Maddie and Liam run into each other again and it gets hot, as in the arguing type of hot. Maddie is a strong young woman and want’s to for once in her life do what she want’s not what she is told. (she is also young and wild too) And Liam well he is the bad boy from the start who likes to party, have fun and a different woman each weekend, even if he couldn’t stop thinking about the girl who almost gave him her virginity, he knows she is way off limits even at her age now.
They both play a dangerous game of cat and mouse and Maddie is very good at it, leaving Liam to want to throttle her as well as fuck her. So there is that! It’s cute she calls him HULK and is a feisty little tiger that Liam doesn’t know how to tame. Maddie is the youngest in the group and of course she is Lennon’s little sister so if you’ve read the previous books, you get a gimps of her. She definitely knows how to be a bad girl but also a young woman with dreams and hopes and hurt too. Deep down this is a very EMOTIONAL book with some suspense, mystery and danger. There is a lot you will not expect to happen and I teared up at a few scenes, I just aside me having an issue with Maddie being young and immature because well she is young can’t blame her, I felt for her through it all.
Type: Book #2 of Duo
