Not my first read by the author, she is one of my favorites and I also have read Book 1 & 2 out of the 5 series books!
You will get a strong doze of Jessica in this one and I pray that she “accidentally” gets killed off! Anyways, thus far (and since this is book 3 and I hope no one is reading in the middle of a full length 5 book series) we all know that the heroine Randi is the VP of the USA with a President who is a big DICK! Trey the hero is cornered by his parents specifically his mother to do something that he wouldn’t normally agree to but to keep Randi safe he had no choice. His relationship with Jessica who in the beginning really seemed like a ‘woman power’ type of person until Trey’s mother got her claws in her, is a rather preternatural relationship! I didn’t like the “triangle” aspect of it in the beginning, it turned me off only because that is my taste or NOT my taste to be exact. I put a lot of emotion and feeling into reading, and it’s not so much as put but that’s how I read, will a full heart and concentration to the story and characters. Blessing & a Curse!
That also said, it really in this one you can see how hard it really is to keep a relationship when you’re the VP and the other is sworn and paid to protect you. The hurdles they go through are real and dangerous, sweet, romantic, fast, mysterious…it has it all. It’s deep political romance but with lot’s of twists and turns. Randi is complex character that Trey keeps at bay, they really are perfectly perfect together. Aside from the beginning where I wanted Jessica killed off, I really enjoyed the remainder. Now let’s talk about the ending: everything from 65% and on was intense, from the lies, secrets, danger constant danger, Randi holds her ground. Like I said these two are perfect for one another and the ending had me SHOOCKED!!!!!! Just shoocked!
