Not my first read by the author and I have read all of the Mason Creek Series books so far as well. I was excited for this one because the heroine is the sister of Kaylee Ryan’s book and she was in that book so I had a little bit of a background and liking towards her. Now these two Malcolm and Leni were something together, I had lots of emotions during this book for sure.
Leni is a single mom of a adorable 5 year old boy who is just too adorable. She moved back to her hometown after well a falling out a final falling out with her child’s father. She uses her inheritance money to start a business and also works hard to ensure her son has a good life. In comes the hero Malcolm who I won’t like I did not like for a while, I am just not a fan of playboy hero’s especially high power or rich ones. It’s not attractive to me in any sense so in the beginning I was not a fan of the hero at all…especially Jess (gag) anyways, he does rather redeem himself but that still lingers around as in the ex the ex lifestyle and all. I won’t say much more about it because it was a personal dislike and not a trigger. The hero and heroine meet in a open way if you will, she basically walks in on him. That’s all I am going to say. These two form a friendship and also have a personal relationship, but when push came to shove Malcolm really stepped up and became the hero that you swoon over even more. He may be the youngest Mayor as well as a Attorney, comes form money and have money but he is very humble and sweet. Especially towards the heroine and her son, a son he would have stayed away form because that’s not his usual motto. It really was very sweet to watch them come together and their first KISS stop SWOON and SEXY overload! I am happy to see these two get their HEA!
