Not my first read by the author or last and I have read the previous books in the series! This one I was really worried about because the hero and heroine are not only roommates but also best friends that go way back including serving in the military. I think what put me off a little was the whole pretending to want the hero’s cousin. It kind of got me mad actually at both of them. Well i happened to be mad at both of them quiet often. I did enjoy their connection and chemistry, was off the charts when they got to it.
These two not only got way back from the military days but also have been soulmates without knowing how much of. They watched out for one another from day one that they met, and when the heroine had an injury and was discharged the hero didn’t hesitate to get out and build the dogs sanctuary they talked about and dreamed off for a long time. Now they live together and the heroine realizes that she can not live without him. She ends up making a plan that by the way was a terrible plan in my eyes but she goes through with it in hopes he will ‘see’ her. Well the hero is a man sooo we all know how that goes, they don’t ‘see’ anything until they make themselves see. And this one was an adventure to get to all that seeing, a fun adventure, a frustrating adventure and a sweet adventure.
You get the full Wicked effect in this one! I slowly fell more and more in love with Sidney & Gunner, they just have a bond that is like no other and keep you engaged through out the whole book! Can’t wait for more!
