Not my first read by the author, she is one of my TOP FAVES and I have already read the first book in this series. This one is the broody older brother & and single-mom. Perfect chaotic pair!
Jud us broody, large, sexy and carries a chip on his shoulder. He is challenged by a little thing. The heroine is equally broken and like a scared little puppy. She stands her ground and stands up to Jud who finds it amusing but also respects her for it. Their meeting maybe wasn’t so great but in the end it turned out to be the best rainy day.
This book was devastatingly beautiful!
While this book is detailed, beautifully broken, exciting, butterfly in your tummy feels…these two, the angst and the pain, you just can’t help but feel it all. I did not see any turn coming, the chemistry between these two is like a fire burning but in the middle of an ocean. Jud isn’t a man who lost everything, Salem not only lost everything but mostly part of herself. On the run and always looking over her shoulder. She moves to the same city as her grandmother and her brother. She end’s up getting a job at Jud’s shop to pay off a debt but in reality she really did want to be closer to him, something about him. She just sees him like no one else. But the past is never too far away, and when it comes barging through it’s a conclusion no one saw coming. The betrayal. The hurt. The Freedom. Jud truly is the best anti-hero there is and Salem is the perfect match!
Two broken souls open their hearts for one final magical turn.
