Not my first time reading the author. I have had this book in my TBR since it came out last year and finally I just wanted to dive into it and boy was it a surprise. A good one. I totally got sucked into the story from page one and I fell in love with both H&H!
Both H&H share a history from when they were young teens. There at the same time but never really talked, or reached out, it was more of a from afar. You find out exactly why and what and it will melt your heart! The heroine comes back to her home town after her brother gets a DUI and she is there to help the family business. The hero comes back to the same hometown but for other reasons, he has a great life in the city (Chicago) but his beloved grandmother who passed recently, left him her land and cottage. Their official meet doesn’t go as planned and the heroine ends up walking in on the hero…who happens to be naked fresh out of the shower. Their enemy-to style is captivating and their banter turns into chemistry. The hero loves to rile the heroine up and she just really can’t stand him. Until she finds herself around her ex and the hero comes in to rescue. They may not have a conventional relationship but it blooms into something more, something with a heart, passion and deep down love. There is just something about the hero his actions, his words and he is beyond SWOONY! The heroine stands her own but she is the sweetest and has the most kindest heart! I just simply loved everything about this story and all the characters! This is a slow-burn but worth the wait because the sizzle that comes with this turns up the heat! Lovable characters, interesting and captivating story and an adventure!
