Had this not been a ‘the heroine is engaged right off the bat and WANTS to marry her groom but the hero is her gown designer and basically wants to take her from him’ I’d have loved the damn book. the hero aside from him doing that, is seriously swoony and perfect. I really hate that this is all going on while the heroine is in a actual relationship with a man she loves. I’m not very far in 37% for now but am doing my best to not DNF this. If there is anything i hate more it’s the ‘steal the heroine trope’ its not sexy to me, sweet or romantic. *sad sigh* i was so looking forward to this book too, by my fav Author.
This years award for the most hated and disliked heroine goes to Jordan *cry me a fucking river. She was in a relationship with Todd for years being treated bad and she still stayed because she what..loved him? owed him? like why? and as soon as she breaks things off with him he tells her he’s been cheating bla bla bla and the Hero is right there and instantly they are together. bam. I’m sorry Melissa but this is officially my least favorite book by you and this year.
spoiler alert but they fuck the same day she breaks it off with her fiancé! From her i skimmed because I really didn’t want to DNF my favorite authors book. I already knew everything that was coming but the part about the heroine’s missing sister is what caught my eye and I can’t wait for her book.
If you’ve read this far I hope you know this is my opinion and feelings towards this book. I truly respect the author and love her work. Again, not every book out there is for every person. While this is not for me and you’ve just read my ‘mood reader’ review. I chose to just move on and continue.
