Kaylee Ryan ➠ Stay Forever

(Kincaid Brothers #2)

BLURB

Declan
My whole world has revolved around caring for my baby girl. I never wanted to let anyone into my life—into our lifeuntil Kennedy came to town and threw a wrench into my single-dad routine.
She’s the first woman to make me feel something… anything, in a long time. If only she would let me in.
Kennedy is kind, beautiful, and everything I never knew that I wanted. She looks at me as if I’m her entire world, and her bond with my daughter is something to see. But there’s a problem: she’s leaving in a few weeks, and I need to find a way to ask her to stay.
Kennedy
My trip to Willow River came at the perfect time to escape. Taking care of my grandmother should be my whole focus. What I shouldn’t be doing is falling for a drop-dead-gorgeous single dad. But my meddling grandmother has other ideas.
Declan is impossible to resist. Everything with him is easy and feels right. We feel right. But the timing is all wrong— no matter how I wish I could change things.
He’s a forever kind of guy, but this isn’t my home, and he doesn’t know what he’s asking when two words change everything… “stay forever.”

Not my first read by the author. She is one of my top favorites and I have read all of her books. That said this is the first one in a very very long time that I rated under 5 stars. I think it has a lot to do with the heroine and her story. I don’t want to give out spoilers, so I won’t go into detail, but I disliked the beginning of the story because we got the ex-husband painted as this great guy, they just don’t want the same thing…then he turns a 180 towards the end during an incident and it just doesn’t sit right with me. The heroine’s actions just I couldn’t connect.

Hero in this one is just an amazing man that’s all I can say. I loved him from page one and he just is an amazing father and human. Heroine goes through a divorce and ends up moving back to her grandma’s town to help her after an injury. She meets the hero and it’s instant for the both of them, she is more reserved because the ink is barely dry on her divorce papers and a lot has happened since then. H&H get to know each other and they just decide to go for it, it’s a slow sweet burn and they are so beautiful together. I will say that I knew what would happen in the end I was waiting for it because of the heroine’s actions in the very fir pages and when it did, I just maybe because I couldn’t connect to that or the feelings I just didn’t feel much for it, kind of ended on a bad note for me. I was very sad about that because being a emotional reader I knew I tend to close off if I can’t connect but in the end it’s how I felt about it and that’s that.

Very sweet, slow burn, single dad, lives in another state, emotional, sexy, swoony!
