Not my first read by the author and not my last. I have read all of Elena’s books and I LOVE HER AND HER WRITING STYLE. There is just something about HER HEROS. Especially the PNR ones, drool over worthy!
That said, lets dive right into this beauty. First I want to say that I am not a usual PNR reader, I have tried a couple but could never get into it. This is my 3rd PNR book by her and I can not get enough. I loved the magic of this! First of this is a werewolf hero and I got to say I really thought that the first duo books with the Vampire got me all hot but this one, something about it. I am looking forward to the second book in this duo. This book does end on a cliffy but with 2 epilogues, then you get the NOW version and I am so excited to see what will happen.
Heroine is the sister of the first duo female, and we get a lot of her in that duo as well and thank gosh she got her own story too. She is a sorcerer and just lost everything but her sister. She is trying to navigate through this new as well as having to be near her mate who hates her and thinks she did the worst. The hero is a werewolf shifter, and he is having to fight with himself because the wolf wants his mate that they finally found but the man has it in his head that she did something that can not be excused in his world. That said they both clash and meet in dream and real but never actually end up getting to a point where they would even consider mating. When the truth comes out the hero feels like a huge asshole that he was and is going to do his best to make it up to his mate. But the heroine does not want the bite…yet that is, she is reserved and trying to find a way to forgive him.
This really keeps you engaged, there is a lot happening but you’re so into the story that it all makes sense. I love the possessiveness of the hero even during the time he thought she was at fault. I can’t stress enough how much I can’t wait for book 2 of this duo!!!
