Not my first read by the author and I have read all of her books and been excited for this new series so so much!
Julia is the twin sister of Jillian from Only One Mistake and Chase happens to be the son of Matthew from Something So Series. I loved this mash up. FAIR WARNING you will need tissue for this book. The tragic events in this really broke my heart and I just felt every emotion. The connection between H&H is something beautiful but the events and the heroine’s heart…without words, speechless. I am really trying hard not to give out to much in this but I want to just scream it out. The heroine is one of the sweetest people alive, she is smart, kind and a little bit spicy. The hero is an amazing man, kind, helpful and sexy. Their worlds collide and when tragedy happens, Chase is really there for Julia. What I will say is that I cried my eyes out reading this and not just at one part but through out the whole book.
This is a slow burn worth the wait. The build up is where it’s at and honestly after everything that happens, the hero truly earned my respect by just being a good human being. Julia really gets handed the shit card and everything just seems to be going wrong even when it’s not her fault. I felt for her pain and loved her even more because of her big heart. This is where Chase comes in, he really pushed to be there for her, get her out of it and just be there for her. Them being together wouldn’t be ideal because of their backgrounds and because Chase’s entire family thinks of Julie as family not just Jillian’s sister. So, they had to be careful in that aspect. It’s hard as it is already with everything happening now they have to try to figure out where to go from here. Their chemistry is off the charts and they both just seem made for one another. I loved watching them come together and overcome the obstacles. And yes it’s a slow burn but what a sizzle it is once they do come together *pun intended* Lot’s of family in this one, you get a glimpse of a lot of the previous characters, they all come together perfectly in this heartbreaking but beautiful book.
