Not my first read by the author, she is a favorite and a one-click for me. I have also read all the books in this series as well as all her books period 🙂
That said, another Kincaid brother fell through. This one is a SWOONY x’s 10 if that’s even possible. It’s a BUILD-UP because Sterling and Alyssa are best friends for over 20 years. They know each other in every aspect almost, they never crossed the line even if both back in HS had a thing for each other just never acted on it. Forward to the brother’s and their wives interfering and putting thoughts into their heads. Now the hardest part about this is the ANGST because these two you basically get 70% of the book as foreplay (this is a build up slow burn) and by the time you get ‘there’ you are ready to burst with them. Their problem was time, every time they said nope I will say something, I will ask something comes up. So forward to a very awkward encounter that makes Alyssa second guess everything Sterling has said and done…but don’t you worry out swoon hero is not only that but a very good listened and pays attention to every detail about Alyssa. I can only describe their love as a volcano, it’s bubbling beneath and then when it burst it bursts fast and hot (yes the steamy scenes are *steamy* the only reason I put only 2 fires because since this a slow burn we don’t get too much of it, but what we do, boy does it make it up!* These two really over come some of their own and together obstacles but in the end their love even in friendship for one another is just so beautiful and makes you fall in love with them right away. ALSO he takes her to the new book shop that opens because he knows how much she loves to read AAAAND carries all the bags of books! I. CANT. *swoon*
You do get a glimpse of another Kindkaid brother that will have his own story and I have a feeling that one might be heartbreaking. I read this in one sitting and started as soon as I got the ARC luckily I was home so I was able to. I love Kyalee’s books and can’t get enough of this series. There are 9 Kindkaid’s and 2 of them are twins, the youngest ones. I can’t wait to read them all!
