Corinne Michaels ➠ Keep This Promise

(Rose Canyon #3)

BLURB

I am about to lose everything.
My home. My name. My future.
My husband was involved in something that could cost us our lives, and on his deathbed, he demands my daughter and I flee Britain. I had no idea he found her biological father, Holden James, in Rose Canyon, and that’s where we’d start over.
The moment we see each other, feelings I’d long forgotten rush over me. Holden doesn’t hesitate to care for us. We find ourselves reaching for each other, even when we should hold back. His smile warms me, his arms protect me, and against my better judgment, I fall for him. All the possibilities of a future are threatened by a looming past.
I’m being hunted, and it’s just a matter of time before someone finds me guilty of crimes I didn’t commit. Whatever trouble my husband was involved in won’t evade me forever.
I am trying to keep my promise and stay for Holden, but I don’t know how long it’ll be before we have to run.
My name was Sophie Pearson, but I vanished, just like my hope to ever find love again.

RELEASE DATE: January 23, 2023

“Dancing in the dark is what got us in trouble.”
“I like you more than I feel like I should.”
“I’m not ready to like you that way.”
“Then we’ll dance until you’re ready.”

Our mouths collide, and it’s heaven and fell and everywhere in between. I press my lips to hers desperately, needing to feel her, to kiss her.

Not my first read by the author and she is a favorite and insta-click read for me. That said Yes I also have read the previous books in the series. CORINNE really left the last to the bang!

I didn’t want this book to end. The suspense in this legit almost killed me. As do a lot of Corinne’s books but this one, I was on the edge of my seat! What happens in Vegas DOES NOT stay in Vegas for these two.

Holden is a doctor a damn good one, a good life he built and great family and friends. He was married once and was not for him, he just wants to live to save lives. In comes cryptic gift in the mail, random things that make no sense to him but his medical license number. Sophie’s life just went from having a lavish lifestyle, taken care of, happy with friends and a best friend husband to losing everything not just her husband. Her daughter and she are having to fly to the states running away just life her husband wanted. What she was running from she had no idea, just that they were in danger and to follow cryptic instructions to follow by her late husband who by the way broke my heart. She did not get to be there for and with him at the time of his death and I cried like a baby. He had a heart condition since he was a kid and to die alone just isn’t fair to anyone, but he did what he had to to protect them. He sent them to the best place he knew that was for them. Holden can’t believe his eyes when he sees the girl from Las Vegas, a past he couldn’t remember quite well but would never forget. These two are a story on it’s own aside from the suspense part of this. From day one Holden jumps in to be the great guy he is and takes care of her and her daughter. There are so many secrets and mystery to this (this is the on the edge part) that will have you guessing and second guessing yourself.

I loved everything about this. In the beginning I was a little worried but once things started to get into place it made sense to me, I let go and I gave Jesus the wheel. That’s how I see this, I needed someone to drive while I was on the edge of my seat. The romance here is so genuine and sweet, melted my heart, the mystery thrilled me, the suspense made me gasp, the sexy scenes made me blush but the connection, held me together through out all this.

p.s. yes you get to see ZACH from TEMPT by Melanie Harlow in this and a little bit of Millie.

p.s.s. what’s next? We are getting a new interconnected series based in Sugarloaf where Addison finally gets her story! wohooo can’t wait but also scared what’s to come!
