Huge fan of Melanie so not my first read and I am well known on her writing style and have been SO SO SO excited for something NEW heck anything from her because I can’t get enough. So she gives us one of my faves SINGLE-DAD which Melanie does in perfection! period!
That said I want to start off by saying that the first kiss between H&H was one of the best I have read! It gave me all the feels and singles down to my spine!! When heroine Veronica finds out what her fiancé has been up to, she teaches him a good lesson. Right, in front of all the people who came to see them wed. Oh yeah, she kicked him and I mean that literal and I slapped! What does a girl who lost her only family member (her mom) and doesn’t have anything else including no money, car or home? Obviously walk around the cute little town in her wedding gown trying to figure out what to do next. When she ends up at a dinner by sheer luck, she runs into some nice people, she’s already liked the town for her wedding but she most definitely liked the small town living feel. But how does she go back to Chicago to get back to NY and try to start over with no money? In comes the her’s sister who is the best (i hope she gets her own story) and saves the day. Well…tries to but fails. All thanks to her stubborn, moody and grumpy brother.
I just want to say that the SPICE in this is all the hype for sure. I just loved the hero’s roughness but possessiveness but gentle-ness and just the need for the heroine! WAS EVERYTHING!
This is not your conventional Nanny-Romance, it comes with a very grumpy hero, the sweetest kiddos & a runaway bride!
