I think by now a lot of you know how much of a Aurora fan I am, I have read and re-read all of her books, and this was a bitter-sweet one because it’s the last one in the series. I really could use another 5 or 6 in the series. And Calvin, most favorite HERO this year.
Calvin took the cake for me. He is a handsome, sexy, tall, funny, loyal, alpha and sweetest man alive..oh an a Police Officer that has a soft spot for sweet heroines that are a bit sassy. Which out Heroine Anna is, they come from very different worlds yet all it took was one look. Calvin wants to understand Anna and Anna wants to shield him from her family and past. Little bit of drama, action and mystery in this one, sweetest moments…gah I loved everything about this and like I said wish there was another 5 or 6 more! I highly recommend this entire series!!
Rating: 5 out of 5.

She curled her hands around my neck and pulled me into her space. “Kiss me, Darby Valentine.”
Not my first read by the author and I have read all the books in this series! THE FINAL Valentine Man to go down #bittersweet
Darby is a special hero because he comes from a past that made him the biggest asshole there is. Even though he has re-built himself and his reputation through out the years, he is still known as that asshole. But he is the most loyal and hard working man not to mention sexy as heck, but his heart us what i fell in love with about him. Waylynn she was freaking funny, feisty, sassy as heck, beautiful and hiding a big heart herself. Them together was a hoot to read, their banter and sizzling chemistry…fire together! So sad to see the series end but glad I had the chance to see all the Valentine brother’s find happiness.

Ares saw him for the first time at a Kilgore Police Department benefit dinner. She’d gone with her dad as his plus one. Hayes Greer had gone by himself and brooded silently across the same table as her, drinking whiskey and not saying a word. It only took that one time for her to become interested. The next time she saw him, he was doing another benefit—but this one requiring a whole lot fewer clothes. And that was when she knew. She wanted him. Badly. But the morose Hayes was too busy thinking about his sins to see what was right in front of his face—Ares. Hayes Greer knew the moment that he saw the feisty Ares Downy again that he should’ve stayed away. Maybe if he hadn’t done the stupid calendar, he wouldn’t be questioning every single woman’s intentions. Maybe if he’d listened to that niggling feeling telling him to stay away, he would’ve been able to do his job a little better. But seeing her with a knife to her throat, in the middle of a building set to blow, made his usually well-wired brain start to malfunction. Because nobody was allowed to touch her like that—only him. Nobody was allowed to scare her, either. Not and live to tell the tale.

Not my first read by the author, she is one of my favorites! She has a variety and plenty of books to entertain your soul, and this series is one of them. I have also read the previous books in this series!
Hayes is a different type of hero, broody yes, fighting daemons yes but something about him…dark. He doesn’t speak much and when he does it will never involve his past or problems. He is a great cop and when the little Ares is mixed up in dangerous situation, his outlook on her changes. There is a lot of laughter, banter, sweet and some sour. Area was my favorite in all this, I loved her because of her big heart and always wanting to help and be supportive. They make an opposite attract couple and when the sparks finally fly, boy do they fly in a alpha sexy and sweet heroine way! I can’t explain it without spoiling it but, this is a definite MUST READ!!

That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby. Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie. After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed. Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell. Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant. What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

“I wish I could be charming. Maybe then Dr. Dick and I would’ve ended up in the sack together instead of him threatening to call for a psych evaluation.”
Not my first read by the author, I just adore and love Amy…from her IG story posts to her books, always fun. This one, little different but in the best way. I fell in love from the first pages. Always something about a enemy-to when done right that get’s em going!
Little bitter sweet about this book, I started writing this review when i was about half way through the book. The beginning really captivated me, and i loved the banter and jumping right into enemy-to. A good laugh always with Amy’s books. This one actually had me going for it to be a little more serious, i wont lie there were moments of ‘Lynsey being immature’ but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading. I do have to get this off my chest, i kind of was OKAY with Dean the male friend but by mid way, I really did not like him…reason: he is one way with the heroine and another with the hero, I just couldn’t enjoy him. Alright aside from that, the hero is PARTICULAR (dry humor – and btw this is in a good way, sexy broody and dry humor worked for him!). A doctor, early 30s , smart, sexy and knows his way with words. A particular humor that seems to clash with Lynsey but yet bond them together. I will also say that I was kind of missing something; maybe more of Lynsey wanting to understand why he is the way he is. They banter a lot but I was looking for that connection a little more. I’ll be back with more once I’ve finished the other half of this.
2nd 50% of the book I was hoping i didn’t have to jump into these words and explanation, but i want anyone that reads my review to understand why. Linsey to me tittered on the line of being an adult and being an adult but immature. There were instances where i found her funny and it was appropriate but then scenarios where it was really immature of what she had said or done and it slightly turned me off more each time. Now granted it was maybe meant to be more light and fun but i was expecting a little something else, so that’s on me and my feelings on the heroine’s tone. Confirmation on not liking Dean one bit – CONFIRMED.. twice. don’t like him anymore, his time and actions, it’s not funny anymore and just No Dean please! *cringe* I want to address the flow and transitions because at times i was hot and cold, for example: one chapter ending in something rather serious between hero and heroine, then beginning of next chapter they are together just like normal (another scenario), i guess I’m just trying to say that i got emotional in the ending and the next start we are back to just normal, so you can see why that’s got me got and cold.
All in all if you’re still here after me writing a whole novella about this review, I want to say that I do love Amy’s books, they really are fun and light…the issues I had with it as always are my opinion and feelings towards reading this sweet story. I would still very much recommend this book and series, what I did love was the hero and heroine together throughout all this, aside form everything they really seemed to be two pees in a pot, polar opposite on the outlook of life but meshed really well together. The epilogue, okay that had me almost balling my eyes out it was sweet!

Olivia When you find out that your fiancé is arrested for swindling over ten million dollars from his clients, you do what any sane woman would do. You escape reality and go undercover, trading in your city-girl Louboutins for country-pumpkin cowboy boots.
It wasn’t a forever change—it was temporary. I only had to stay here until things back home got straightened out, or so I thought.
I was riding horses before I was walking, or at least that was what they told me. I always knew I would take over the family farm. It’s in my blood.
Country boy at heart, the minute I saw her dragging her luggage up the gravel driveway I knew she was out of my league.
I shouldn’t have started anything with her, because I knew she was just passing through.
Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies. He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs. Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for. Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful. She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either. That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon. Ashe never thought he’d agree.
Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it. She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door. When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair. Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to. When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree. What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

Not my first read by the author and I have read the first book in this series. This one, from the blurb I KNEW I would love because Ford and Ashe were an anticipated couple by me, ever since book one. This did NOT disappointing!
These two were unforgettable. They have know each other since they were little, always used to hate on one another, yell, push, shove…the typical kids stuff. When they got to the teenage years, things started to change for Ashe and every girl Ford went through, she felt that. Until that one girl, that kind of changed everything for Ford too. Going on as they did, always bickering, fighting, daring each other, getting into trouble until a bet. A bet that turns it all around.
Watch these two skirt around each other only to realize that the love part of their love/hate relationship out-wins. I really loved this from the beginning, it’s one of those reads that sticks with you for a long time. I am looking forward to more in this series for sure.

Sometimes people come into a person’s life and make their heart skip a beat.
Those people are called cops.
Well, one cop in particular.
A SWAT officer for the Kilgore Police Department, to be specific.
The first time Avery Flynn saw Derek Roberts, she was photographing him for the first annual Kilgore Police Department SWAT calendar. He was leaned back in his squad car, shirtless, and giving her a smile that was completely between them. A smile that hinted at what he wanted to do to her later.
When she scrounges up the courage to ask him out after the photoshoot, he laughs in her face.
Well, screw you, too, Mr. February.
Derek Roberts never really paid attention to the photographer.
She was a mousy girl who dressed like a twelve-year-old girl. Her tight leggings, extra baggy Star Trek t-shirt denoting her a Klingon captain, and her surprisingly clean Chucks didn’t leave much of an impression.
Now, the outfit that she was in weeks after he rebuffed her? Yeah, now that caught his attention.
Too bad that happens when he’s trying to save her from what’s sure to be death thanks to an unhinged native Texan who’s convinced she was the reason he lost his last chance at a million dollars.
When he tries to save her, she tells him she’d rather take a cattle prod to the forehead than go anywhere with him.

I DON’T WANT TO BREAK YOU. I WANT TO FIX YOU.
Not my first read by the author and I have read book #1 in this series as well! I want to explain myself before I start because, I love Lani’s book and book one in this series was actually really good (for me) this one unfortunately I wasn’t able to click with except just the fact of reading it. It’s not bad per-say but I think you have to have read her before to understand this type of writing. The hero is much older than the 19-year old heroine that’s still in high school.
Everything that could go wrong, went wrong for our heroine here. She lost her parents at a very young age and everything seemed to head downhill from there. When she runs into our hero, it’s her directing him to take his shirt off and pose by his cruiser. When she makes a bold move, the hero only laughs in her face and leaves. Forward a little bit of time, she runs into some trouble to which the hero is done and tired of running from…so GAME ON!
I have been debating on this one between 4 or 4.5 stars. I love Lani’s books and words and I always have a blast reading, but this one just didn’t do it FOR ME. I really couldn’t connect, that’s the only reason for my rating.
