Not my first read by the author and I am always excited for something new. I am a sucker for single-dad and this one blows it out of the park. THE BEST dad ever and happens to be the sexiest man too! Dangerous combo.
Crew is one of my favorite up to now hero’s, seriously the best dad, hard working, isn’t afraid to get dirty, funny, sweet and just aside from being the hero a great man. After his wife left him and their twin daughters to move to another country, he sets out to live at his uncle’s house in exchange to get away from the loud city life. There was just one thing that was the con of the whole deal, he would have a tenant and have to take care of any needs of the house. Not a bad thing considering he’ll have all the time but what he didn’t expect was Tennyson, his tenant who is beautiful, funny, smart and just everything he wasn’t looking for. But Tenny is not who it seems, she has lived in this small town for years now but not really living. She is running some a past that may be there to haunt her all her life. These two end up having to room with each other and the hero’s twin adorable daughters. This was a intense book, I think because we didn’t get anything from Tenny to the hero Crew that I was always expecting something to happen. I am really sad that the heroine chose not to trust the hero the way he put his trust and kids trust in her. I get the whole thing I do but just made me not like her a little, tiny bit. The fact that she was living the way she was and has to, made me feel sorry for her that she can never just be free to be her, to have more and to want more. Heartbreaking! That said this is a story about two people who didn’t know each other, both come with a lot of heavy baggage….a hero that was happily married or so he thought, got left behind and not only that but a cop a injured cop at that, he just didn’t know how he will get out of his own head. In comes the heroine who is so secretive and doesn’t give a lot but her smile, kind heart and laughter. These two might be the opposite but two broken souls always find each other, and sometimes you get lucky enough that they mend into one.
I will pin point on a couple of things:
a. this starts off with the Hero’s POV (which was unusual but in a great way) ((let’s just say that you will LOVE the hero from the first few pages))
b. even though the heroine had every right to not give, she really didn’t budge even a little, after the hero trusting her so much I was hoping she would give him just a tiny bit even
c. the scene that went into detail spicy scene that is between the heroine and her ex COULD HAVE LIVED WITHOUT IT, I got over it but def didn’t want it knowing he was a bad bad man
d. the ending, I won’t go too much into this because of the way the story is set up I wa son the edge and just waiting for something to happen and the ending to me I was confused a little I had more questions and needed more. That’s all I am saying about that.
e. I want to add another thing which i might later because this could be considered a spoiler and I don’t do those.
f. CREW IS THE BEST DAD AND MAN OUT THERE. ONE OF MY TOP FAV HERO’S THIS YEAR!
